COVID-19. The Coronavirus. No matter what term you use, the current viral pandemic has workers across Canada in virtually every industry wondering if and when they’ll be able to receive payment for their work. At RPI, we deal with hundreds of nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare roles on a regular basis, and we want to assure you that you will continue to be paid regularly for any shifts booked through our services, even during this pandemic.
Ensuring you get paid
If you’re a candidate who works shifts for RPI and you’re worried about not getting paid for the foreseeable future – worry no more! We’re committed to ensuring that all candidates who work during the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to get paid ever Friday, as always. Of course, candidates will still need to request their pay through our Easy Bill system (and if you’re not familiar with that, here’s a great blog that outlines how it works), so please ensure that you’re keeping up-to-date with this and submitting your shifts as usual.
A few things to note
While RPI will still be able to pay you for your shifts during this pandemic, certain circumstances may arise that would unfortunately be out of our control, including:
- If you receive your paycheck via mail, it may be delayed in the event of a stoppage in mail delivery from Canada Post;
- If your provincial government elects to impose restrictions on work;
- If the federal or provincial government elects to impose a ‘lockdown’ of some sort
However, these would be extreme cases, and we don’t foresee any issues in getting your pay to you. In the event that any of the above circumstances happen, rest assured that RPI will look at other potential options for paying our candidates.
In closing
There’s no doubt that we’re currently living in troubling times, but we hope you’ll rest easy knowing that, barring any extreme circumstances, RPI will continue to pay you regularly for your work. Remember to be safe, and if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to your Account Manager directly.
