Are you a pharmacist who would rather do more consulting work than dispensing? This job will allow you to just that!
For some pharmacists, working in a retail pharmacy can become tedious after many years in the pharmacy sector. Depending on where you work, there are high volumes of scripts to process. From time to time, patients might become impatient or irate. The pressure placed on you is quite high, to procure accurate prescriptions and safeguard patients’ health. If you are a pharmacist who has studied and worked hard to gain your expertise, there is still another way to practice in your field.
Job Duties:
Consulting pharmacy jobs involve speaking with customers over the phone or through online communication methods. In this particular position, you will speak to customers about the prescriptions given by their doctors, assessing the customer’s medical needs and how different drugs would interact for that particular patient. Patients and their doctors will then send you their scripts, and the pharmacy will arrange for the patient to receive their drugs. It’s quite a bit different than the typical retail pharmacy.
