Our client is looking for a pharmacist to fill a permanent dispensing position, starting as soon as possible.
This is a well-established pharmacy in Metro Vancouver, with strong ties in the community and beyond. If you’ve accumulated experience in different locum pharmacist jobs over the last few years and are looking for a position to settle into, this is the perfect job for you.
The Duties of the Pharmacist:
- This pharmacy is moderately busy. You will dispense an average of 50 to 100 prescriptions per day.
- Patients will bring their doctor-issues scripts to you, and you will have to check these before procuring the drugs they need.
- For packaging, labelling, and cashing out purchases, you will be assisted by a pharmacy technician.
- Periodically, you may conduct medical reviews for patients.
- Your position as a pharmacist will require you to speak with walk-in patients regularly.
- You will be approached as a source of knowledge about drugs, their dosage, and their side effects.
- You will be working full-time hours every week.
Expectations for this Permanent Pharmacist Role:
- You must know how to use the WinRx pharmacy software package.
- You must have a minimum of one year of experience as a dispensing pharmacist (including in a retail pharmacy setting)
- You must have graduated from a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program.
- You are required to have a license to work as a pharmacist in British Columbia.
- Excellent English communication skills are needed, as well as a polite, knowledgeable demeanour.
Compensation and Benefits:
- You will earn between $35 and $40 per hour, depending on your level of experience.
