Work for 3 Months as a Pharmacist in a Kingston, Ontario Hospital

What’s Involved in this Job?:

  • You would be working from February until April.
  • Your hours will be variable, with 8 hour shifts between 7 AM and 8 PM.
  • Above all, you’ll monitor the systems put in place by the hospital that safeguard the medication taken by patients.
  • You will keep medical records organized for every patient, so that drugs are accurately distributed.
  • You will watch for drug incompatibilities for each patient’s profile.
  • You will provide information for patients and staff regarding the prescriptions being disseminated. This information includes dosage and side effects.
  • You may work with hospital staff (including physicians and nurses) to evaluate and address prescriptions requirements for each patient’s health requirements.

Skills Required for this Job:

  • You must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the province of Ontario.
  • You need to have past hospital pharmacy work experience.
  • You need to have a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy
  • You will need to demonstrate your ability to work with other hospital personnel, working as a team to solve problems.
  • You need to have a commitment to hospital best practices and code of ethics.
  • The successful applicant must be skilled at interpersonal communication in English and interactions with patients and other staff.
  • Knowledge of IV pump technology would be a strong asset.
