RPI’s client owns and operates a long-term care facility that is located near Hamilton’s ‘Mountain’ area. They are looking for an experienced RN for a 6-month contract position that commences on November 27, 2023 and will run until approximately May 24, 2024 – we should also note that there is a very good chance for the chosen candidate to be hired on a permanent basis, based on job performance. You will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, with hours ranging from 9:00am to 5:00pm; 1:00pm to 9:00pm; and 11:00pm to 7:00am. You will also be required to work on Sunday OR Monday per month, based on scheduling (to be determined). The starting wage is $44 per hour.

Your regular duties will include:
– Identify and assess patient care requirements
– Provide pre- and post-operation care in a compassionate environment, making or recommending necessary adjustments
– Take patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures; measure health outcomes against patient care goals and standards
– Document patient care services by recording relevant information
– Monitor and administer medication and intravenous infusions
– Supervise and oversee the work of junior staff and interns (if required)
– Promote a cooperative environment for health care team by communicating information; resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
Qualifications include (in addition to your basic skills and training):
– Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
– Current Registration and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses
– Competent to perform CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level
– Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
– Our client has requested that only RNs with a minimum of 5 years’ experience be considered for the role
