Interested in working as a pharmacy manager this summer? Northern Ontario is calling!

The warm weather seems to have officially arrived, and you know what that means – summer is almost here! And at RPI Consulting Group, we’ve received hundreds of amazing job opportunities from our clients over the last couple of weeks, as they prepare to cover vacation time and extended leave. There’s one opportunity in particular that we’d like to discuss today that would be perfect for a pharmacist who’s looking to take the next step in their career, while also experiencing life in the wide, vast expanse that is Northern Ontario.

The Model Town of the North

This particular assignment will see the chosen candidate travel to the small Northern Ontario town of Kapuskasing – an absolutely gorgeous town with a population of approximately 8,200 that’s located 8+ hours north of Toronto. Our client, an independent pharmacy located in the heart of the town, is looking for someone to work as the pharmacy manager on a full-time basis, starting on June 1. The pharmacy is open 6 days a week – Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm, and is generally very busy, filling up to 225 prescriptions per day throughout the week.

The chosen candidate will be expected to have a great passion for their work, and to also meet the following criteria:

  • Knowledge and experience with Kroll
  • Extensive experience with third-party insurance billing
  • Previous experience working with indigenous people would be considered an asset
  • Experience with blister packs is an asset
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the province of Ontario
  • Valid driver’s license and a dependable vehicle
  • Previous work experience as a pharmacy manager would be preferred, but experienced pharmacists will be considered for the role

Above all else, the chosen candidate must be passionate about their work, and able to adapt comfortably to working in a small, Northern Ontario town – if you’re looking for a job in a busy city, this is not the job for you!

How can you apply?

We urge all interested candidates to contact our team of Account Managers ASAP, as this job is not expected to be available for long. You can also email us your resumé directly to jobs@rpigroup.ca
