Our clients are rising to the challenges of COVID-19, and that’s why we are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to work for one of our clients located 30 minutes outside of downtown Calgary, area starting immediately.
Join a small, locally-owned and operated independent nursing home to support them in their mission to deliver loving, dignified and excellent healthcare services that enable residents to live comfortably and safely.
 
This assignment is a 6-8 month contract, with a strong possibility for an extension. Candidates will be scheduled to work full-time hours – 8 hour shifts, 5 days per week. This position reports directly to the Director of Care and is expected to establish personal rapport with patients; collaborate with physicians and team members, while adhering to therapeutic standards to assure quality of care as per the Alberta College of Nurses.
 
Duties:
– Identify and assess patient care requirements
– Promote a cooperative environment for health care team by communicating information; resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
– Provide pre- and post-operation care in a compassionate environment, making or recommending necessary adjustments
– Take patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures; measure health outcomes against patient care goals and standards
– Monitor and administer medication and intravenous infusions
– Supervise junior staff, as well as tutor interns
– Document patient care services by recording relevant information
– Maintain and replenish nursing supplies inventory; check stock to determine inventory level
– Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  
Qualifications:
 
– Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
– Current Registration and membership in good standing with the Alberta College of Nurses
– Must have demonstrated ability to conceptualize, problem solve, understand issues, set priorities, evaluate, negotiate and allocate resources
– Exceptional MS Office skills particularly with Word, Excel and Outlook
– Competent to perform CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level
– Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations
– Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
– Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public
– Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgment
– Ability to perform the essential duties of the position
– Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work record
