Our clients are rising to the challenges of COVID-19, and that\u2019s why we are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to work for one of our clients located 30 minutes outside of downtown Calgary, area starting immediately.<\/span><\/div>\n

Join a small, locally-owned and operated independent nursing home to support them in their mission to deliver loving, dignified and excellent healthcare services that enable residents to live comfortably and safely.<\/span><\/div>\n

This assignment is a 6-8 month contract, with a strong possibility for an extension. Candidates will be scheduled to work full-time hours \u2013 8 hour shifts, 5 days per week. This position reports directly to the Director of Care and is expected to establish personal rapport with patients; collaborate with physicians and team members, while adhering to therapeutic standards to assure quality of care as per the Alberta College of Nurses.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Duties:<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
– Identify and assess patient care requirements<\/span><\/div>\n
– Promote a cooperative environment for health care team by communicating information; resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies<\/span><\/div>\n
– Provide pre- and post-operation care in a compassionate environment, making or recommending necessary adjustments<\/span><\/div>\n
– Take patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures; measure health outcomes against patient care goals and standards<\/span><\/div>\n
– Monitor and administer medication and intravenous infusions<\/span><\/div>\n
– Supervise junior staff, as well as tutor interns<\/span><\/div>\n
– Document patient care services by recording relevant information<\/span><\/div>\n
– Maintain and replenish nursing supplies inventory; check stock to determine inventory level<\/span><\/div>\n
– Maintain professional and technical knowledge<\/span><\/div>\n

Qualifications:<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
– Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Nursing<\/span><\/div>\n
– Current Registration and membership in good standing with the Alberta College of Nurses<\/span><\/div>\n
– Must have demonstrated ability to conceptualize, problem solve, understand issues, set priorities, evaluate, negotiate and allocate resources<\/span><\/div>\n
– Exceptional MS Office skills particularly with Word, Excel and Outlook<\/span><\/div>\n
– Competent to perform CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level<\/span><\/div>\n
– Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations<\/span><\/div>\n
– Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills<\/span><\/div>\n
– Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public<\/span><\/div>\n
– Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgment<\/span><\/div>\n
– Ability to perform the essential duties of the position<\/span><\/div>\n
– Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work record<\/span><\/div>\n
