To ensure consistent skills and qualifications in healthcare settings, you will have to file several pieces of documentation and pay fees to the Saskatchewan Registered Nurse Association (SRNA). Here is what you need to know:<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"english-language-skills\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">English Language Skills<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For nurses whose first language is not English, you must pass one of two accepted English language tests. For the Canadian English Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.celbancentre.ca\/\">CELBAN<\/a>), you must have at least the following scores on one test:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Reading: 8<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Listening: 10<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Writing: 7<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Speaking: 8<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For the International English Language Testing System (<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ielts.org\/\">IELTS<\/a>), nurses must have at least the following scores:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Overall: 7.0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Reading: 6.5<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Listening: 7.5<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Writing: 7.0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Speaking: 7.0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Your test results must continue to be current throughout the registration process, until you have received your new RN license.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"cs-embed cs-embed-responsive\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"kGwvpicfXw\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/rpigroup.ca\/blog\/blog\/is-your-healthcare-facility-or-workplace-taking-protective-measures-against-the-coronavirus-outbreak\/\">Is Your Healthcare Facility or Workplace Taking Protective Measures Against the Coronavirus Outbreak?<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Is Your Healthcare Facility or Workplace Taking Protective Measures Against the Coronavirus Outbreak?&#8221; &#8212; RPI Consulting Group Inc.\" src=\"https:\/\/rpigroup.ca\/blog\/blog\/is-your-healthcare-facility-or-workplace-taking-protective-measures-against-the-coronavirus-outbreak\/embed\/#?secret=kGwvpicfXw\" data-secret=\"kGwvpicfXw\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h4 id=\"educational-and-professional-background\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Educational and Professional Background<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Registered nurses in Saskatchewan must have graduated from a post-secondary nursing program, typically a four-year university degree program. You should have your degree certificate ready.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You will need to provide evidence of your previous registrations as a Registered Nurse, including your first registration and any subsequent re-registrations if applicable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It&#8217;s required to provide a nursing work reference from your most current supervisor, to demonstrate that you have worked to the appropriate standard in your previous nursing jobs.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You need a total of 1,125 hours or more of nursing practice; or you must have completed an approved nursing\/nursing re-entry program in the last five years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Proof of your legal name and a Vulnerable Sector Check are also required.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Once you have all of these details, you will be able to submit your application to license in Saskatchewan.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"the-application\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Application<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You will now be able to access the <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mysrna.org\/webs\/srna\/application\/#\/login\">Saskatchewan Registered Nurse Association website<\/a> and enter your details and evidence (as listed above) into your application. Specific links to complete your application can be found <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.srna.org\/licence_membership\/becoming-a-nurse-in-sask\/registered-nurse-sask\/canadian-rn\/\">here<\/a> on the SRNA website.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We suggest that you organize all of your records in advance of completing the application, so that the process is done more efficiently.
